Frequently Asked Questions
What are Eyelash Extensions?
Dream Lashes eyelash extensions are individual silk material. They are applied to your eyelash individually, not to the skin. Each false lash is attached to natural one. It is a very enhancing beauty service and you DO NOT need to use any mascara while wearing these eyelash extensions. It is a very careful and intense service which requires skill and precision. Once applied these lashes are so natural looking it is difficult to tell even up close that you have extensions on. Size availability ranges from short to long (8mm-17mm)
How long do the Eyelashes last?
It is an individual process. We lose 3-5 eyelashes everyday. We also grow a new lash to replace the one that fell out. Dream Lashes can last for months with proper care and bi-weekly maintenance. However, factors such as eyelash growth, lifestyle and general aftercare will affect how long the lashes last. Please remember to come to your appointment without any eye make up and don't use an oily make up remover 24h prior your treatment. Proper aftercare guarantees the longest lasting results, however we never guarantee how long your lashes will last as there is too many factors that affect lash retention and it's basically very individual matter.
How long does the treatment take?
It all depends on how many lashes you've got. Certainly! The more you've got, the more I put on, so - the more you've got, the longer it will take. Average time of a treatment is 2-2,5 hours.
Can I remove them myself if don't want them anymore?
They can be easily removed. Please do not attempt to remove any lashes on your own, seek professional help from your technician. You can damage your own lashes by pulling the synthetic once. I WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT YOU MAY CAUSE BY TRYING TO REMOVE THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS ON YOUR OWN.
Do eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?
No, not at all! The Dream Lashes Glue is formulated to create a solid bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries very soft on lashes, allowing the lashes to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own lashes. However - if you don't want to get refills done - it's advisable to use eyelash conditioner to make them stronger (ask for more details)
I've had my lashes done by someone else and am not satisfied. Can you help?
Of course - I'll be happy to fix your lashes if you're not satisfied about the effect you got. You should choose you eyelash stylist very carefully, before decide to have your lashes done with them. Make sure they have enough experience proven with pictures. They should also be able to offer you full range of lenghts, thicknesses and shapes so you could get the effect that really suits you. Sometimes they have just few different types and offer them to everyone due to lack of products. Be careful - choosing wrong person (probably much cheaper than the others) may leave you with damaged, wrong type lashes that are sticked together or fall out sooner than you expected.
Can I apply eyelash extensions to my own eyelashes on my own?
No. Only a trained professional will be able to safely apply eyelash extensions. Unprofessional application or self-application may cause eye injury or clumpy, unnatural looking lashes. Eyelash Extensions are applied one lash at a time to your individual natural eyelashes to achieve long, thick and natural looking eyelashes.
What happens if a lash loosens or becomes dislodged?
Do not pull on the lash. Please contact me to make an appointment to have them removed or replaced, to avoid damage to your natural lash. As your natural lashes fall out due to the growth cycle, you will need refills when new lashes grow.
I had eyelash extensions applied a few days ago and a few lashes have fallen out - why?
The lash has a growth cycle and unfortunately it is hard to determine which lash is ready to fall out naturally so it is unpredictable when applying the synthetic lashes. Each day we can loose 3-5 natural lashes, but often they fall out unnoticed unless they fall into your eye, but when eyelash extensions are applied we are more aware of when they shed as we know the extensions are there plus they are longer, darker and thicker. If you sleep on your stomach with your face squashed into the pillow or you sleep on one side you may notice the lashes may not last as well as the other side.
Do the eyelash extensions come in different sizes?
Yes; I have full range of lengths (8mm - 15mm), thicknesses (0.05-0.15), shapes (J,B,C,D) and colours. Everyone will get the effect they dream of; very long and slightly curly or a bit longer than natural and much curlier.. you name it! Every client is treated individually.
Is the eyelash glue and glue remover safe?
Yes, in the right hands and having your extensions applied by someone who has been correctly trained, it is safe. I specialise in eyelash extensions and take great care to ensure that the adhesive and adhesive remover does not come in contact with the skin or eyes. The glue used is a high quality fast drying glue which does not give a clumped look. As the glue is being used around the delicate eye area it is important to only have eyelash extensions applied by a trained and qualified eyelash stylist.
Feel free to ask if you got any questions. I'm always happy to help.
